Questions & Answers
The Visual Arts Department is hosting its annual High School Student Portfolio Day in conjunction with Preview & Prepare Day. High school seniors who are interested in pursuing studies in an art-related discipline are invited to review their portfolio of artworks with GRCC art and photography faculty. These reviews will be conducted in-person within the GRCC Art Department classrooms.
Portfolio review is a process that helps prospective artists identify strengths and areas for improvement in a portfolio and to help identify directions an artist might want to pursue. Faculty reviewers who specialize in the following areas will be available:
Painting | Pottery | Drawing | Photography | Illustration | Video | Graphic Design | Digital painting/Artmaking | Interior Design | Sculpture
To participate, please email Department Head Nick Antonakis at nantonak@grcc.edu to request an appointment. Please specify a discipline of interest--or one that is closely related--from the list above. Deadline to register is April 3, 2026.
No! Preview & Prepare Day is totally free.
We recommend parking in Ramp A, using the entrance on Ransom Street. There is a walkway over Ransom Street that will take you to the Wisner-Bottrall Applied Technology Center (ATC), where the event is held. Signs and staff members will direct you.
You will be given a parking validation voucher when you check in at the event.
Preview & Prepare Day is an open-house style event. You can attend any time between 9 a.m. and noon.
Tours and FAFSA completion workshops are by signup only once you arrive, so arriving near the beginning of the event may allow more opportunities to participate. The Academic Programs and Admissions presentation is at 9:30 a.m. and the Financial Aid presentation is at 10 a.m.
